New Withings accounts and Withings+: what has changed
What to check before using ScaleBridge, and what we are still clarifying with Withings.

Withings has changed who can share health data with apps such as ScaleBridge. Please check the requirements below before connecting your scale or choosing a ScaleBridge plan.
Who is affected?
On Withings’ Start for Free API plan, Withings accounts created after October 12, 2026 need an active paid Withings+ membership to share health data with an app. This applies to apps that are already live, including ScaleBridge.
According to Withings, accounts created before that date are unaffected. The relevant date is when your Withings account was created, not when you registered with ScaleBridge.
Why do we mention two dates?
The developer notice says October 12, 2026. The Withings+ / Withings AI Connector FAQ gives a rollout time of October 13, 2026 at 00:00 UTC. These statements leave the exact account-creation cutoff unclear. If you created your Withings account around October 12–13, check your eligibility with Withings before relying on data sharing.
What this means for ScaleBridge
New Withings accounts with active Withings+ can still use ScaleBridge. For accounts covered by the new rule, ScaleBridge cannot receive new Withings data without an active membership.
Withings’ API plan is separate from your ScaleBridge plan. Paying for ScaleBridge does not include Withings+ or remove this requirement.
The sync fix is a separate change
We have updated ScaleBridge to address the recent synchronization issue. That fix does not override Withings’ separate membership requirement.
What we are doing
We are seeking clarification from Withings and monitoring their updates. The published Enterprise exceptions apply to specific contractual use cases, including Cellular Solutions, SDK and Research partners. We have no confirmed exemption for a consumer app such as ScaleBridge.
We will update this post if an authorized way to share data without a Withings+ membership becomes available for ScaleBridge. We cannot promise an exemption or a date.
